Like so many new entrepreneurial start-ups, VTOUR was born out of the COVID-19 crisis. With a vision towards helping people connect with one another to remote places, and to help businesses reach their customers in a world in which attaining physical proximity is suddenly even more challenging than normal, VTOUR was created to offer an attractive and convenient alternative.
Founder, Paul Sutton, is an international professional photographer and photography teacher, turned tourist guide, now turned back to photography.
“The COVID-19 problem suddenly meant that as a tourist guide, like so many other people, I was suddenly without an income, stuck inside, and isolated from a large part of the world. It wasn’t long before my frustration at the situation and at hearing about businesses going out of business daily, lead me to considering how I could use my skills and experience to bridge the gap between people and places.
Once you embrace the idea of using the virtual world you suddenly start realising that the benefits go way further than a simple website-like experience. There are countless ways to apply the technology to further not only business, but importantly, education and sharing of information and experiences too. And being that it’s all online, it means we can bring these experiences to a massive audience!”
VTOUR creates immersive virtual experiences tailored to the needs of virtual tour providers and users, and crucially, aims to engage with users in meaningful ways – be it for the purposes of education, entertainment, communication, or all. We’re filling the gaps that have been enlarged by COVID-19 and creating a new world and a new way of experiencing it. We’d like you to be a part of it!
